Santa Fe Indian School - Santa Fe, NM

The Student Activities Center's prominent entrance on the plaza is flanked by portals with bancos. Various functions of the activities center include a bookstore, a student activities office, and recreational areas.

The High School Living Facility  provides students with a safe, comfortable environment. The living areas provide for both structured and unstructured learning, social interaction and student activities. Two dormitory buildings totaling approximately 83,500 SF are part of the first phase of the project.

The High School classroom complex consists of two buildings totaling approximately 42,000 square feet.  The Humanities Building and the Practical Arts Building will serve the academic needs of 9th-12th grade students.  Both buildings face the Student Life Plaza.

The buildings are designed in Pueblo Revival style

The Middle School Living Facility is separate from the academic buildings, strategically placed to form additional outdoor courtyards, administration, gymnasium and resource rooms.

The Middle School has is own distinct entrance area on the Student Life Plaza.  The building includes academic functions as well as a gym. Each grade level has its own academic classroom cluster with a science lab and open common areas.

Sports Fields are located close to the gymnasium building while cross-country trails circle the entire campus.  The 6,000-seat gymnasium complex is recessed partly into the earth to minimize its height and to blend in with the smaller buildings on the campus.

The Master Plan provides spaces for educational, living, recreational and spiritual learning opportunities.

The design requires a unique blend of new construction and historical and spiritual correctness.
