Over the history of the firm, Mr. Gilbert has established a philosophy which stresses client service, total project responsibility, and design. This is accomplished while adhering to the schedule and budget of the client. Working from a philosophy of seeking the most appropriate and intelligent solution for each new project, Mr. Gilbert utilizes his ability to work with the user group to elicit the needs and goals of the user and to then develop a design responsive to the generated input. The firm’s success is attributed to excellent clients and the establishment of long term client relationships. VHGA’s staff of 26 includes 9 registered architects, 8 designers and construction specialists, 6 administrative personnel, 6 LEED® Accredited Professionals, and 1 LEED® Green Associate.
The firm has operated under the same ownership for the thirty-six years of the firm’s existence. VHGA has an accomplished body of work and a history of award-winning design including K-12 Schools, a wide variety of Higher Education projects, Performing Arts Facilities, Recreational Facilities including the Albuquerque Aquarium, and Technical Projects, and Laboratories. VHGA is at the forefront of sustainable design, providing elegant solutions to complex problems.
Since its inception, VHGA's focus has centered on environmentally sustainable design, site design, energy efficiency, natural daylighting, and building materials selected to be in harmony with the regional context.
